Of all the Pokémon that are destined to appear in Pokémon GO, 5 have never been caught: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo and Mew.
FUN FACT: Did you know that the Pokémon Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres get part of their names from the Spanish words for “one”, “two” and “three” (“uno”, “dos”, “tres”)? ArticUNO, ZapDOS and MolTRES.
Nobody has managed to get their hands on the Legendary Pokémon Articuno. Articuno is the first of the 3 legendary birds.
Zapdos, the electric, Legendary Bird Pokémon is yet to make its debut in Pokémon GO.
However, YouTuber FrozenAquaCat gave us a sneak peek into what Zapdos looks like in Pokémon GO:
It’s important to note that even though you can see Zapdos, it’s not possible to capture it in game. Attempting to capture Zapdos using FrozenAquaCat’s method will cause the game to crash.
Moltres, the Legendary fire bird, hasn’t been captured by any Pokémon GO players. And just like the other Pokémon in this list, it has never even appeared.
Hold onto your Master Ball if you ever manage to find one in Pokémon GO: it might be the only way to catch the legendary and powerful Mewtwo. This psychic Pokémon appeared in the Red and Blue versions of Pokémon in a mysterious cave. The only way to capture it was to use a Master Ball. It is likely that a Master Ball will be required to catch Mewtwo, if it ever appears.
The Mythical Pokémon Mew has never been caught in Pokémon GO. Mew was only available in the original Pokémon Blue and Red games by using a glitch/cheat.
Has anyone caught 145 Pokémon in Pokemon GO?
Some players have claimed to have caught all 145 Pokémon currently possible to encounter in Pokémon GO. Reddit user nghiadang7 claims to have caught all 145, but this claim is unproven beyond a screenshot. Another claims that their friend has managed to capture all 145.
